OPTIMATE PROCESS

order-receipt

1. ORDER
RECEIPT

Every plant becomes part of centralized groups called area. Every centrally managed group of plants virtually shares all vehicles. A single Operating Centre receives and collects all the incoming orders. If the optional IP PBX integration option is active, incoming calls are recognized and operators are thus significantly helped during the order input phase. The order input screen guides the operator during the collection of all the required or optional order-related information. The same screen offers also a synthetic view of the customer's financial situation in order to quickly solve administrative issues before processing the orders.

2. TRIPS
GENERATION

Every order creates one or more trips. Optimate gives the operator an immediate feedback of the number and type of vehicles involved in an order. This initial set of trips are then dynamically assigned to real vehicles. The vehicle assignments are continuously adjusted to consider changes of order parameters, delays and other events.

3. TRIPS
OPTIMIZATION

For every single order, the dispatcher can choose between manual planning and automatic optimized planning. The optimizer is a specific subsystem developed in collaboration with university research centres. It is based on state of the art mathematical models and is configurable by means of a tunable set of rules and constraints. It automatically places all the trips on the daily planning for the vehicles, improving continuously the solution according with the user defined constraints like pouring continuity, and goals like lowering delivery costs. It also determines a suitable vehicles engagement for the next day.

4. MISSION
INSTRUCTIONS

Optimate can automatically interact with truck-mixer vehicles sending them an initialization package, for each trip, with the loading plant and the delivery site coordinates. The geographic information are transmitted over the mobile network, received by the truck and automatically processed by the GPS receiver. The specially developed firmware on the GPS device makes it also a general purpose communication system between the truck and the operating centre.

5. PRODUCTION
ORDER

Once truck receive instructions, dispatcher can start concrete production basing on order and required delivery time. Dispatchers can remotely video control the production plants and allow access to the choosed vehicle for loading.

6. DELIVERY

All the steps of the trip are stored in the information system, giving the opportunity to have full control of the process.

7. TRACKING
& SLUMP CONTROL

Once the truck-mixer starts the trip, the system can report the state and position of the vehicle and control the progress of every single order. The system is also able to check moisture in the transported concrete in order to remotely control the use of water. Slump is thus finally controlled.
